About Portland Plumber Pros: an independent plumbing guide
Portland Plumber Pros is an independent information website for homeowners in the Portland metro. It is not a plumbing company, and this page explains exactly what that means.

Who runs this website?
Operator, address and commercial register entry are listed in the legal notice. Full company details are in our legal notice, and how we handle information you send us is described in our privacy policy.
We do not have an office, workshop or staff in Oregon. There is no Portland phone number, no service van and no crew behind this guide.
Not a licensed contractor
Portland Plumber Pros is not a plumber, not a plumbing business and not a contractor of any kind. We hold no Oregon Construction Contractors Board license and no Building Codes Division plumbing license, and we do not perform, supervise, schedule, price or guarantee any plumbing, sewer or water heater work. This site sells no plumbing service in Portland or anywhere else.
That distinction matters in Oregon. The CCB says Oregon law generally requires anyone who works for compensation on improvements to real property to be licensed, and names plumbing as an example. The Building Codes Division adds that contractors doing plumbing work need both a CCB license and the appropriate BCD plumbing contractor license. To get the BCD Plumbing Business license, a company must hold an active CCB license and employ a full-time signing supervisor. Any work on your home should be done by a contractor who holds the licenses that apply to that job.
What do we do?
- Explain costs. We summarize published cost ranges from established guides such as HomeGuide, HomeAdvisor and Angi, labeled with the source and year, so you can judge whether a quote is in a normal range.
- Explain rules. We link to the official pages for Oregon contractor and plumbing licensing, City of Portland plumbing and sewer permits, the Portland Water Bureau, Portland Environmental Services and NW Natural, and summarize what they say.
- Explain warning signs and first steps, such as where your main shutoff usually is and who to call if you smell gas.
- List licensed plumbers. Guide pages show licensed plumbers with phone numbers and license numbers, and all listed contractors are on one page. The list is unpaid and is not a ranking.
- Answer questions by email. See below.
What do we not do?
- We do not send anyone to your home or respond to emergencies.
- Prices for Portland jobs are never set, quoted or collected by us; that happens only between you and the business you hire.
- We do not publish customer reviews, ratings or testimonials, because we have none to publish. Our reviews page explains the policy.
- We do not guarantee the work of any contractor. That includes the contractors listed on this site: your contract is with the one you hire.
How does the site make money?
Today it does not. Reading the site and emailing us are free for homeowners. We receive no payment or other compensation from the contractors listed on this site. Inclusion in the list is free. We may in future offer clearly labeled ad placements on this site; if that starts, this page will say so, and an ad will never decide what our guides say about costs, licensing or permits.
How do you reach a plumber through this site?
- Call a listed contractor. Each guide page shows licensed plumbers with a phone number, license number and website, and all listed contractors are on one page in alphabetical order. The order on guide pages changes daily and is not a ranking.
- Check the license yourself in the Oregon CCB license search before you hire, even for a listed contractor.
- Email us if you prefer. Questions about this guide or a correction: email hello@portlandplumberpros.com. We do not take service requests and do not pass messages on to contractors. The contact page explains what you can email us about.
- Any estimate, contract, payment and warranty is strictly between you and the contractor you choose.
How we research
- Primary sources first. For licensing, permits, utility rules and safety guidance we use official sources: the Oregon CCB, the Oregon Building Codes Division, the City of Portland, the Portland Water Bureau, Portland Environmental Services, NW Natural, the EPA, the CPSC and the FTC.
- Cost guides are labeled. Cost figures come from published consumer cost guides and are shown as that guide's estimate. Unless a page says otherwise, the cost figures are national ranges, not Portland quotes and not prices we charge.
- Every number is linked. Every Portland page names the sources behind its figures, so you can check them yourself. A number we cannot trace to a source does not appear on the Portland pages.
- No invented content. You will not find invented reviews, made-up case studies or fictional staff on this Portland guide.
- Dated reviews. The Portland pages were last checked against their sources in October 2026. Permit procedures and cost guide figures change, so check the linked source before relying on a figure.
- Corrections. If you find an error, email us with the page and the correct source, and we will review it.
How should you verify a contractor?
Search the company in the CCB license search and the plumbing license in the BCD license holder search. The BCD advises verifying both before the contractor begins work. Get a written contract, which the CCB says is required by law for projects over $2,000, and ask who will pull the City of Portland plumbing permit. Our guide to choosing a plumber lists more questions.
How can a contractor ask to be listed?
Contractors are listed on this site only if they meet the criteria on how we select, which also explains how to request free inclusion or removal. Listing is free and unpaid, and being listed is not a ranking, an endorsement of any job or a guarantee.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Why is a company in Germany running a Portland plumbing website?
The Portland guide is one of several independent homeowner sites run by the same operator, who is named in the legal notice. Research and writing do not require a local office, but plumbing work does require Oregon licensing, which is why this site does no plumbing work and instead points you to the CCB and Building Codes Division license searches and to licensed local contractors.
Does Portland Plumber Pros charge homeowners anything?
No. Reading the site and emailing us are free for homeowners, and we add no fee when you call a listed plumber. We receive no payment or other compensation from the contractors listed on this site. Any estimate, contract or payment for plumbing work is directly between you and the contractor you hire.
How often is the information on this site updated?
The Portland pages were last checked against their sources in October 2026. Permit procedures, utility programs and cost guide figures change over time, so each figure links to its source. Before acting on a permit rule or program amount, open the linked official page to confirm the current version.
